Whirlpool Corp. mulls purchase of W.C. Wood

W.C. Wood, makers of freezers, dehumidifiers, and refrigerators, went into receivership in November, according to an article in the Guelph Mercury News.

The article also states that,
“A New York private equity firm, Red Diamond Capital, took over the company in early 2008. Currently, W.C. Wood has been in receivership since Monday (November 16) , following a six-month period of restructuring and creditor protection that failed to save the company.”

Currently, W.C. Wood has plants, located in Guelph, Ontario, Canada; Ottawa, Ohio, United States and Mexico.
